As far as I know, when a new university get eslsetiahbd, it first runs basic courses, then after years of experience and demand, it opens other technical and interdisciplinary courses. What was the need of starting courses like Chinese Language and Music and Dance ? VC always say that he will make SU a world class university! My bet is that just be visiting China, Bhutan, Nepal, Bangladesh, Delhi, Burma, ...moreMalaysia and Japan, he cannot make SU his dreamed university. He should understand the feelings of Sikkimese people, that way he could have won our heart. Remember that Sikkim merged to India in 1974-75. No secondary schools and colleges that time. So VC should have given a chance to the first generation of deserving Sikkimese candidates willing to serve for our own state.
