Leh is well connected from Delhi via air and roads. Regular flights of Jet Airways and Indian Airlines are available and tickets are moderately priced.
Leh does not have a railhead. The nearest rail center to reach Leh is Chandigarh (760 km) and Pathakot (780 km), but the connectivity is not so good and it takes almost three days for tourists to reach Leh, via buses from Chandigarh or Pathankot.
Delhi is almost 1000 km from Leh and direct buses are not available. The Himachal Road Transport Corporation provides regular bus services from Delhi to Leh. The bus departs from Delhi at 1:30 pm, reaches Manali at 10 am and departs from Keylong the next day at 4 am and arrives at Leh at 8 am.
