Absolutely free.

Pictures

What does "license" mean for photos?
Any photos that you click belong to you. Even on internet. When you upload your photos on Must See India, Flickr or any other website, you typically hold copyrights to your photos, automatically.

However, you can grant rights to other people to use your photos. Creative Commons, which is a nonprofit organization, offers six default licenses as an alternative to full copyright. You can choose the one that best suits your needs.

Thousands of users on Flickr have licensed their photos under Creative Commons. Learn more.

Unless the photos are personal, we encourage sharing under Creative Commons.

How can I license my photos on Flickr to you?
There are two ways to grant us the license:
  1. Drop us a mail - This is simplest. Send a mail to contact@mustseeindia.com with link to the photos you are granting us the license.
  2. Change license on Flickr - You can change the license of your photos on Flickr and we'll include those photos when we search for photos on Flickr next time. We would appreciate if you can explicitly inform us when you change it.
In the first method, you are granting permission to *only* Must See India to use your photos. In second one, you are granting permission to internet community at large to use your photos. In general, we encourage sharing of photos so that it can help other people also and hence we recommend the second approach.

Why should I license my photos to you?
Let us just say - to help other travelers.

It is said a picture is worth a thousand words, and we totally believe in that. It's great for travelers to "see" the attraction before they plan a visit to it. By sharing your picture, you are doing a great service. By that token, it also helps you when you plan your travel next.

Must See India doesn't pay any money to the owners for these photos.

I do not want my photos to be used at your site. How can I opt out?
You can drop us a note on the feedback page, or send a mail to feedback@mustseeindia.com.

Trips

Who all can edit the trip details?
Trips are intended to be a collaborative effort. All "confirmed" members of the trip can edit the details, including uploading pictures.

Who all can invite members to a trip?
Only moderator can add/remove new members to the trip.

What is trip privacy?
There are 3 levels of privacy for a trip -
  • Public: Everyone can view trip details.
  • Trip members and buddies only: Only trip members and their friends can view the trip details.
  • Trip members only: Only trip members can view the trip details.
Please note that only moderator can change the trip privacy.

Public trips help other travelers in their planning. They can get an idea on the budget, attractions to visit, accomodation, mode of transport by browsing through similar trips.

Unless you have personal pictures added to a trip, we recommend setting privacy level to Public.
(Note: very soon we'll add privacy for pictures so that you can share only pictures you want to.)

How can I change trip privacy?
Only moderator can change the trip privacy. It can be done from My Trips page.

I am a moderator of a trip. I want to give moderator powers to other trip members.
Currently, there is no provision to share moderator powers to other members of the trip. However, this feature is in pipeline and you'll be able to give selective powers to other trip members.

I am a moderator of a trip. I do not want other trip members to update the details of the trip.
Currently, there is no provision to disable edit of trip details for other trip members. However, this feature is in pipeline and you'll be able to disable edit permissions for trip members.

I added a friend to one of my trips, but (s)he didn't get any mail invite.
At the moment, we are in private beta and putting any new member invited in a queue. All the invitations are sent shortly, typically in a few days time.

Can I add trip with destinations outside India?
Short answer is yes. Although the focus of this website is India, you are welcome to add trips with destinations outside India.

Trip Pictures

Can I link multiple Flickr accounts to a trip?
Not at the moment but you'll be able to shortly. This feature is in our pipeline.

Can I add pictures from my Picasa account?
