Waterfalls in Kerala are an important tourist attractions that attracts many tourists to this beautiful state. Visiting the most enthralling waterfalls and enjoying picnic near them is an experience unmatched.

Kerala has been bestowed with some very popular waterfalls that attracts tourists from all over the country. These gurgling cascades of Kerala are known for their picturesque beauty that create a refreshing effect on its onlookers. Some of the most sought after waterfalls one should not miss on thier holidays in Kerala are -

Athirappally & Vazhachal - These are the two most important waterfalls in Kerala known for their ethereal beauty. Located around 63 kms from Thrissur, these waterfalls are 5 kms apart. The Vazhachal waterfall drops from a height to 80 mts and create a ripple of excitement for the tourists. Athirappally Falls on the other hand merge with Chalakudy river after falling from the top of the Sholayar ranges. Both these waterfalls are known for their pristine and cool ambiance and should not be missed on South India holiday tours.

Thomankuttu Waterfall - Located 74 kms from Cochin, the Thomankuttu waterfalls is one of the most beautiful and mesmerising waterfalls in Kerala. The waterfall is layered and forms a poll at every fall. Numerous cave around the waterfall adds to its attraction.

Palaruvi Waterfall - On the Kerala-Tamil Nadu Border, around 75 kms from Kollam is the Palaruvi falls that highlights swimming in the cool water as its main draw. This too is a layered waterfall falling from a height of 300 meters and looks like a fall of milk. Waterfalls are one of the prime attractions among those planning a honeymoon in Kerala.

Aruvikkuzhi Waterfall - Among all the waterfalls in Kerala, Aruvikkuzhi waterfall is the best spot for picnicking. The falls that come down from a height of 100 metres and form beautiful streams before making their way to the rubber plantations located nearby. 

Power House Waterfall - On the way to the Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary tourists can sight this marvellous beauty. falling from a height of 2000 meters, this waterfall is surrounded by beautiful mountain ranges that delight the tourists.
