Formula One is always a rage around the world, with a huge fan-base that dotes on every single car and driver. India is no exception and when plans that Formula One was targeting India for a Grand Prix were announced, excitement levels were at their peak.

The Formula 1 Grand Prix Racing event scheduled to be held on Greater Noida’s Budh International Circuit on 30 October 2011 has been keenly anticipated by millions of auto racing fans in India.

The thrills and glamour associated with this sport has garnered attention not only from sports fans, but also from potential sponsors and different media channels, all of whom hope to gain from the mass hysteria this event evokes. If you’re looking to catch some high octane action live, you need to be there!

Some Bare Basics About Formula One

The International Automobile Federation, the FIA is the premier body in charge of licensing and regulating Formula One motor racing events all over the world. This year, with the ouster of Bahrain, India became one of the 20 countries to host the F1 racing event.

For motor racing fans worldwide, F1 races are unique, mainly because of the speeds involved in such races. This single seat racing event is a true test of man and machine, with speeds up to 360 km/hour being recorded normally. Indian fans that hitherto could follow the events only through the broadcasts on television now have an opportunity to see their heroes live in action.

Since the event is followed by millions of fans worldwide over television and has a readymade audience, media channels fight to secure sole broadcast rights. Automobile industries compete to sponsor the event, to secure their bit of fame. Likewise there are sports crazy industrialists in India who have worked hard and long to popularise this sport in India. This event is also likely to bring in revenue from foreign television channels. Tourist traffic is scheduled to increase bringing in revenue for the tourism industry.

Details About the Race

The Jaypee Group won the contract for building the racing track in India. The design and construction has been monitored and approved by the Formula One auto racing circuit architect, Hermann Tilke.

The track sports allied infrastructure like a pit stop building, a medical centre, a separate media enclosure and workshop facilities. The 5.14 km track has 16 circuit turns and is expected to be covered by race participants in a mere 1 minute and 27.02 seconds.

The circuit is also expected to have a seating capacity of 1,18000 people. Thanks to the popularity of the sport, fans from all over  India and abroad will surely throng to the event, and this can be an amazing opportunity if you’re planning on having fun with likeminded people. The F1 event in India is to be hosted by the Force India formula F1 team. This team was established in 2007 by industrialist Vijay Mallya, who is an ardent racing fan.

Delhi seems all set to host this premier racing event and in order to make sure that you enjoy a good experience; it would be a great idea to book your hotel rooms in Delhi or Noida way in advance. The rock band Metallica and pop diva Lady Gaga are expected to perform in the ceremony, and this is an additional bonus for fans and tourists alike – the sound of ripping cars will be complemented with some great music!

Move fast and book your tickets and hotel rooms to witness the biggest event of the new season.
