Exploiting Jarawa Tribals For Tourism
In the name of tourism, Jarawa tribes of Andaman are being harassed recently. Harassing them in exchange of food is completely inhuman act. Action needs to be taken right away to avoid such incidents being repeated.
The recent exploitation of Jarawa tribes
of Andaman in the name of tourism has put a big question mark to what tourism
really means. Harassing Jarawa tribals to entertain tourists by luring them to
dance in exchange of food is completely inhuman act. These tribes are human not
a tourist attraction.
Though Indian Government has created a
buffer zone in the Jarawa forest which is prohibited for tourists yet such a
zone or law couldn’t protect these tribals from being harassed. It is a highly
irresponsible from the part of policemen who bribed from the tourists and
become a part of this inhuman act. Besides, tourists who enjoy human safaris
are no less to be forgiven.
Unless strong action is not taken against
such incidents right away, Jarawa tribes will continue to be harassed and will
remain a source of entertainment for the tourists.
