Standing tall at a height of 2,144 m (7,500 ft) is the cricket ground in Chail that draws thousands of cricket enthusiasts from all over the world. Chail is a picturesque hill station nestled in the state of Himachal Pradesh. It has many tourist attractions, out of which this cricket ground is a must-visit for tourists.
Beautiful View of Valley
From the high altitude of this ground, visitors can enjoy a breathtaking view of the Satluj valley, Shimla and Kasauli. The beauty of nature acquires a deep, surreal meaning when looked at from an elevated platform such as this. The view is particularly beautiful in the night, when thousands of lights from tiny hamlets glow life fireflies on a vast, dark, hilly expanse.
This cricket ground is enveloped by a green belt, mostly comprising of deodar trees. This ground was built way back in 1893, and since then, has been a spectator to thousands of games. The maintenance of this sports area is taken special care of, and is always found in good shape. The ground also alternates as a polo field and football ground and also has a basketball court.
