Rafting is one of the most exciting adventurous sports that can be indulged in Zanskar River. The two most popular stretch or runs on Zanskar River for rafting includes – Padum to Nemu and Phey to Nemu. Padum to Nemu run, which covers a distance of 20 km, is considered to be the most difficult run for rafting and is suitable only for well-organized rafting expedition. This run is best suited for well-trained and experienced rafter.
While the other route - Phey to Nemu is slightly easier and rafting through this route allows you to enjoy the breathtaking beautiful mountains and splendid old monasteries flaked by the lovely valleys. Many travel agents in and around Ladakh offers attractive rafting packages on Zanskar River.
The best time for undertaking rafting expedition is during the months of July to September, when the Zanskar River is full of water, letting you to have high fun and enjoyment.
