Literally Radha Ramana means one who gives happiness to Radha, and it is one among the numerous names of Lord Krishna. It was established by Gopala Bhatta Gosvami and it is told that the deity in the temple is self manifested from one of his shalagram-shilas. As per traditions this took place on a full moon day of April or May 1542 and every year this event is celebrated with much enthusiasm. On that day the deity is offered a holy bath with milk and so many other incenses.

The temple also holds other shila’s of Goswami, along with the idols of the chief deity. It is quite embarrassing that the sanctum does not hold a deity of Radha. To signify the presence of Radha a crown is kept near to the idol of Lord Krishna.
