Best Season / Best time to visit Varkala
Climatic conditions in Varkala are similar to other parts of coastal Kerala and the conditions are generally hot and humid. Typically, summers are hot and extreme and humidity is also high. Visiting during this time is possible, provided one takes precautions from the heat. Monsoon season brings much needed relief from the heat. Winters are the best time to visit the place.
Summer season is from March to May. Temperatures range from a minimum of 32°C to a maximum of 35°C, during the day. May is usually the hottest month of the year. Nights are much cooler and a cooling breeze from the sea can be experienced.
Monsoon season is from June to September. Temperatures reduce to an extent during this period and heavy rainfall can be experienced for most of the season. The South West Monsoon is responsible for bringing rain to this region. October and November are a good time to visit and a few showers can be expected during this time.
Winter season is from December to February. During this time temperatures range from a minimum of 22°C and can rise up to around 28°C. December and January experience mild conditions.
