Van Vihar Wildlife Sanctuary is an important sanctuary in the Indian state of Rajasthan. This wildlife sanctuary is located in a region that has two major wildlife reserves – Ramsagar reserve and Van Vihar reserve. The sanctuary is located in the Dholpur district, which lies in the Vindhyan plateau.
The Van Vihar Wildlife Sanctuary is a very important tourist destination in the district, as many families and tourists flock to this sanctuary during the peak tourist season. The wildlife reserve is a very vast one that covers an area spanning fifty three kilometres. There are many species of exotic animals and birds, not to mention varied species of flora too. Wildlife and adventure enthusiasts will love travelling to the Van Vihar Wildlife Sanctuary, mainly due to the sheer variety of animals and birds there.
You can spot many species of rare animals like leopards, sambhars, chitals, nilgais and other aquatic animals during your visit to the sanctuary. The Van Vihar sanctuary also provides a lush green setting where you can unwind. For the ones among you who are interested in studying plants, there are many Khair trees and Dhok trees in the region. You will also come across many other species of animals like wild boars, hyenas, and blue bulls in the sanctuary.
