Calm secluded coastal spot Udvada, renowned holy place of Parsis in India, is credited with the most famous Iranshah Atash Behram, the sacred fire temple of Parsis. Udvada, placed in between Daman and Valsad in Gujarat state, is a seaside village and a well-known heritage site and pilgrim center. It is believed that the fire has been burning in the Iranshah Atash Behram for more than 1,250 years.
Udvada, predominantly populated by Parsis, is the Mecca of Parsis. The series of events, which changed this ordinary hamlet of grazing places for camels or uth vada into a holiest place of Prasis started in the 7th century when Arab invaders conquered the area.
Udvada, the holiest spot of Parsis, is famous for the tongue watering tasty Parsi cuisine. Udvada is different from other Gujarat cities since it has a considerable number of old Parsi buildings, and many are still undamaged. One of the distinctive features of this calm village is that all lanes starts or ends from the main road. Locals remember landmarks instead of the names of the roads to identify the houses of its residents.

રવજી નામનો યુવક વલસાડ જિલ્લાના ઉદવાડા ગામમા રહેતો હતો. સાંભળ્યા પ્રમાણે રવજીનુ મુળ ધરમપુર નુ હતુ. એક રોજ રવજી દરિયામા સ્નાન કરવા ગયો, ત્યા તેને માતા ભવાની ની મુર્તિના દર્શન થયા. માતાની મરજી મુજબ રવજી માતા ભવાનીની મુર્તિ ને પોતાની સાથે લઈ આવ્યો. ઘરની નજીક એક ઝાડ નીચે તેણે માતા ભવાનીનુ મંદિર બનાવ્યુ. સાંભ્ળ્યા પ્રમાણે રવજી પુજારી હતો. માતાનો ચમત્કાર થવા લાગ્યો રવજી ભગત બનીને લોકોની સેવા કરવા લાગ્યો. રવજીને ચાર પુત્રિ અને એક પુત્ર હતો. તેના પુત્રનુ નામ કીકા હતુ. કીકાએ મણી નામની છોકરી સાથે વિવાહ કરીને મુંમ્બઈમા સ્થાયી થયો હતો. કીકો ઉદવાડામા આવતો જતો રહેતો.. એક રોજ કીકો મણી સાથે ઉદવાડા ગામે આવ્યો. ગામના મિત્રોએ કીકાને ઈરછા વિરુધ્ધ દારુનુ સેવન કરાવ્યુ અને માતાના મંદિરયે લઈ ગયા. માતાનો પ્રકોપ થયો. કીકાને માતાએ મંદિરથી દૂર ફેકીં દીધો. માતાએ પુછ્યુ કોણે મારા દિકરાને દારુ પાજયુ. બધા લોકોએ માતાની માફી માંગી. કીકાને પાણીથી સ્નાન કરવવામા આવ્યો કીકાએ પણ માતાની માફી માંગી. માતાનો ક્રોધ શાંત થયો. માતાએ કીકાને કહ્યુ જો તુ મને તારી સાથે મુમ્બઈ લઈ જશે તો હુ તારુ ઘર હરિયાળીથી ભરી નાખીશ. કીકો ગરિબ હતો તેની આર્થિક અવસ્થા મજબુત ન હતી.ઘર પણ નાનુ હતુ. ઘર નાનુ હોવાને કારણે કીકો માતાને પોતાની સાથે મુમ્બઈ ન લાવી શક્યો. પણ માતાની મરજી મુજબ તેણે પોતાના ઘરે માતાના નામનો ઘટ બેસાડ્યો અને ભગત બનીને લોકોની સેવા કરવા લગ્યો.તેનુ પરિવાર આજે પણ મુમ્બઈમા છે અને નિયમિત માતાની પુજા કરે છે. ઉદવાડા રેલ્વે સ્ટેશનથી ત્રણ મિનિટ ના રસ્તે માતા ભવાનીનુ મંદિર છે. હવે મંદિરને ગામના લોકો સંભાળે છે. લોકો બદલાયા માતાનુ મંદિર બદલાયુ પણ માતાની મુર્તિએ જ છે. આપણી સાથે આજે રવજી નથી, કીકો પણ ૧૮૮૫ મા મ્રુત્યુ પામ્યો.પણ એમનુ લોહિ આજે પણ મારા અંદર વહે છે. મને આ વાતનો અભિમાન છે કે રવજી મારા પરદાદા અને કીકા મારા દાદા હતા.
