Sited in Sri Venkateswara National Park in Chittoor District, Talakona Waterfall is the highest waterfall (270 ft) in Andhra Pradesh. The waterfall is located at a distance of around 58 km from Tirupati. Placed amidst dense forest, the waterfall offers lush green surrounding. It is said that the water here has healing properties.

Due to the wide range of plant species found in the region, the waterfall has been declared as Bio-sphere Reserve during 1989-90. Located close to the fall is the Lord Siddeswara Swamy Temple, which is believed to be constructed by Appa Swamy, a devotee in 1811 A.D. During Mahashivratri, the temple is visited by many devotees and tourists.

One can reach the waterfall through a 2 km trek from Siddeswara Swamy Temple which is closest motorable road and it will take around half an hour to reach the fall. It is best to visit during the months of November to January.
