St Mary's Church, Thanedar

St Mary’s Church, consecrated in 1843 as per local people, is situated very close to Thanedar at Kotgrah in Shimla District of Himachal Pradesh. This old-fashioned wooden Church with glittering stained glass windows today marks the existence of the Anglican Church in Kotgarh. Built in s very simple neo- classical style of architecture, this wooden structure holds the attraction of visitors. The church also has an adjacent cemetery carrying the historical symbols of a bygone time. Gorton Mission School started in 1843 is located nearby. Many tourist visits this church to offer prayers and also to see the architectural style of this Anglican Church.
