Rainawari is the holy place where the most important gurudwara in Srinagar is situated. The Gurudwara is built by the sixth guru of Sikhism who traveled through Kashmir. The guru halted in this place and a gurudwara, known as Chatti Padshahi Gurudwara was constructed.

Rainawari has historical and religious importance. This place has all the beauty of any other place in Srinagar, ranging from picturesque surroundings, cool and nice weather and calm, quiet environment. Visitors can mix up with locals and have a close look at their lifestyle and culture.

Hiome home sweet home , rainawari is in our blood, base and dreams. we have spent peaceful and pleasent childhood. we were residing in choudharybagh and we had a valnut tree in our compound. The charm of that vicinity will remain ever with us till we live.

Rainawari is very close to my heart as i havespend my childhood &did schooling from here moreso my birthplace will remain always close to my heart till i am alive.

Sir, Rainawari owes its name to hazrat Maqdoom pak or hazrat sultan i aarfeen(alah rehma), whose shrine towers on the southern side of hari parbat, his sur name was Raina & it thus became rainawari meaning Raina's garden. He was the most reversed saints which the valley has ever produced or will ever produce.
Rainawari has the biggest grave yard of srinagar.
You can also see the only psychiatry hospital of kashmir here, It also has the central jail of kashmir valley both neck to neck.
