Simlipal

Simlipal is a picturesque and scenic town in Orissa located at Marurbhanj district. The city, once hunting location of the erstwhile Maharaja’s of Marurbhanj, is credited with the largest wildlife sanctuary in India and also is one of the main tiger project centre in the country. Simlipal derived its name from the silk cotton tree known locally as Simul. One can enjoy the complete bio-diversity in this nature’s gift.

This area is located at a plateau with an average elevation of 900 m from sea level. Simlipal is enriched with thick dense forests, imposing meadows, stunning waterfalls and mind blowing rivers.
