Located around 64 km to the south-east of Junagadh city, this National Park covers an area around 1412 sq. km. It was established in 1965 and is the only habitat of the endangered pure Asiatic Lions. Rich in flora and fauna, this sanctuary is a must see site while visiting Sasan Gir. The park has a good number of leopard, while other animals found here includes Sambar, Deer, Chital, Spotted Deer, Nilgai, Antelope, Wild Boar, Jackal, Hyena and many others.

To view the best of the Gir National Park is through jeep safari. The park is open all year around but the best time to visit is during the months of November and June.
