Sarnath Archaeological Museum in Sarnath has a small but impressive collection of artifacts excavated from the Buddhist site. The sculptures and the antiquities ranging from 3rd century BC to 12th century AD are displayed here.

Prominent of the collections is the enormous Ashoka Pillar. Other outstanding exhibits are Dharmrajika Stupa, Saddharmachakra Vihar and images of Buddha and Bodhisattva. The images of gods and goddess like Lord Krishna, Lord Ganesha and Goddess Saraswati can also be found here.

The museum holding lot of archaeological value attracts many visitors. It is open from 10 am - 5 pm on all days except Fridays.
