Nestled in the backdrop of lush Himalayas along the Holy Ganges is Parmarth Niketan Ashram. Established by a great saint, Pujya Swami Shukdevanandji Maharaj in 1942, it is the largest ashram in Rishikesh. With clean and scenic surroundings, the ashram is a sacred abode for thousands of pilgrims from all over the world.
The ashram host a range of activities for pilgrims which include prayers, yoga and meditation classes, satsang and lecture programs, kirtan, the famous Ganga –aarti at sunset, nature care, ayurvedic treatment and training. The ashram houses a 14 feet Lord Shiva Idol that lies on the banks of Ganges. Besides, the ashram also organizes camps in which pilgrims from around the globe participate in intensive courses including yoga, meditation, stress management, reiki, ayurveda, acupressure and other ancient sciences of India.
