Chandi Devi Temple, laced ideally on a hillock named as Neel Parvat near to Rajaji National Park in Uttaranchal , is constructed in 1929 by the King of Kashmir, Suchat Singh. The hill and the temple are on the banks of the sacred river Ganges. The main deity is Chandi devi and it is believed that the idol of Goddess was established by Adi Shankaracharya in the 8th century.

The place Chandi Ghat is located nearby to the temple. Legends say that the place got its name from the mythological story of killing of Chanda Munda by the Goddess Chandika Devi. Many devotees visit this ancient temple to make their wishes to come true.
