Best Season / Best time to visit Pulicat
Climatic conditions in Pulicat can be defined as a tropical type climate. Monsoon season brings substantial rainfall to the area. Conditions are predominantly hot and humid especially during the summer months. Winters are mild and temperatures gradually reduce after the monsoon season and the best time to visit if from August to February.
Summer season is from the month of March and lasts till the end of May. Summer temperatures vary from a minimum of 32°C and can rise up to a maximum of 40°C. Nights are comparatively cooler and temperatures reduce gradually. However, the humidity can makes it extremely uncomfortable. May is usually the hottest part of the year. Humidity remains in the mid eighties throughout the summer months.
Monsoon season brings substantial rainfall from the North East Monsoon in the month of October. Pulicat also gets certain amount of rainfall from the South West Monsoon from June to September. Monsoons bring much need relief from the heat and visiting is possible during this time. Monsoon rains are usually brief with spells of sunshine in between.
Winter season is from the months of December to February. This is a good time to visit the place as the temperatures are much cooler.
