Pench in Madhya Pradesh is renowned for its rich flora and fauna. Flanked by the pretty ambience of the majestic Pench River, Pench is naturally blessed with abundance of lush greenery. Positioned in the Seoni district of southern Madhya Pradesh, this locale shares its border with Maharashtra.

A rocky terrain with varied wild life, Pench is a perfect place to spend the holidays in idyllic surroundings. It is subjugated by moderately open awnings, assorted forests with substantial bush swathe and open grassy scraps. The heaving countryside ropes a montage of foliage varying from soggy, cozy basins to open, arid deciduous jungle. More than 1300 species of plants have been traced from Pench, which includes rare and dying out plants along with plants of medicinal value.

The surging topography of Pench is roofed with small mounds and sundry woods that make it a dream destination one should visit at least once in a lifetime. The beautiful Pench River, which runs through the Pench National Park, maintains the rich foliage of this hamlet.

Pench with its natural reserves has a celebrated history. It is well known that the Jungle book of Rudyard Kipling is based on the woody forest and its rich wild life. An account of its natural assets and affluence cropped up in Ain-i-Akbari. Apart from this, this beautiful land and its varied flora and fauna found its place in numerous books on natural history.

A tribal locale with copious natural resources and rich wild life is a recommended place for those who rejoice in the charisma of the woody forests and its wilderness.

Travel within city

Pench Tiger Reserve is located in the State of Madhya Pradesh. The reserve is the setting for the world famous literary work Jungle Book written by Rudyard Kipling. Since it is a reserve, the local transport options are limited and some of them are organized tours, elephant rides and nature walks.

Organized Tour

Private vehicles are not allowed inside the reserve and the only way to travel through the jungle is through the safaris and organized tours that are arranged by the resorts or the forest department. It is usual for guards to accompany you during your safari. People are not allowed to step out the vehicles during these tours and they are conducted in the forest department jeeps that have an iron grill for protection. Generally jeeps are the only vehicles that are used for safaris.

Elephant Ride

Elephant rides are organized by some resorts, while these are not a transport option per se, they make for a good adventure ride.

Nature Walk

Nature walks and treks are permitted in some areas and these are a good option as well. Generally tourists are accompanied by a guide in these walks.
