Best Season / Best time to visit Parganas
The climatic conditions of the Parganas districts differ according to the altitude and distance from the ocean. Overall climatic conditions can be classified as tropical and the place experiences three main seasons. Summers are hot and humid and the place might be difficult to visit the place during this period. Monsoon season is prolonged and extensive rainfall can be experienced during this season. Winters are mild and this is the best time to visit the place.
The summer season starts in the month of March and extends till the end of May. Temperatures can be expected to rise beyond the 40 degrees Celsius mark in the coastal regions of the two districts. The lowest expected temperature in the region is around 20 degrees Celsius.
The months of June, July, August and September form the monsoon season. Steady rainfall can be experienced during this period and it is better to avoid visiting during this season. The conditions are milder during the post monsoon months and this is a good time to travel to the region.
The winter season starts in the month of December and extends till the end of February. Day temperatures rarely rise beyond 30 degrees Celsius during the winter months. The lowest expected temperature is around 10 degrees Celsius.
