Panchgani is a hill station that is located near Mahabaleshwar in Maharashtra. Since it is located amidst five hills, traveling around the place can be a little difficult. Only powerful vehicles can climb the slopes. Some of the local transport options are taxis, jeeps and motor bikes.
Local transport in Panchgani is mainly through tourist taxis and they can be hired on a daily basis. They cost around Rs 600 per day. This is a good option for visiting nearby areas. Jeeps are also available and they are ideal for climbing the steep slopes. They cost around Rs 500 per day and are a good option for visiting some of the plantations in the area.
Motor bikes may also be available for hire; however they may not be a safe option for inexperienced riders. They cost between Rs 200 and Rs 300 per day.
