Best Season / Best time to visit Muthanga Wildlife Sanctuary
The weather in the sanctuary is divided into three main seasons. Summer, winter and the monsoon periods are the basic seasons in this place. Summers are typically hot. The winter season is cold and temperatures can drop drastically during this period. The place gets rainfall from both monsoons and the forests are wet for around six months of the year.
The summer season is from March to May, and during this time the place experiences uncomfortable conditions. The summer temperatures vary from a maximum of 35°C to a minimum of 28°C. Summer nights are much cooler.
The place gets rainfall from the South West Monsoon and the North East Monsoon. The time between June to September experiences substantial rainfall from the South West Monsoon. The months of October and November get certain amount of rainfall from the North East Monsoon. Temperatures gradually reduce during the monsoon season and reduce further as the winter approaches.
