This is one of Melbourne’s oldest market areas, operational since 1878 and offers the best quality fresh produce at a very competitive price. Locally known as the ‘Vic Market’, it is a major landmark of Melbourne in Australia and is the largest open air market in the Southern hemisphere.

The market was named after Queen Victoria and has been listed among the Victorical Heritage Register. Besides being a popular market area it is a famed tourists shopping destination as well, as tourists can buy diverse range of jewellery, clothes, shoes and handmade craft at a cheaper rate, besides lip smacking food and delicacies. Do not miss enjoying doughnut from the hot doughnut van, which has been operating for more than half a century and has become an integral part of the local tradition.
