The Dandenong Ranges, commonly known only as Dandenong are a set of low mountains, approximately 35 km east of Melbourne. These mountains ranges once served as the only means of timber for the city.
The main attractions here are the water courses, waterfalls and the summits. Tourists come here to enjoy picnicking, spend time at the scenic locales and relax at the various coffee shops and restaurants located here. There are many scenic points too located here.
The Puffing Billy railway – a narrow gauge heritage steam railway service between Belgrave to Gembrook, is also a very popular attraction. While at Dandenong ranges, tourists can also indulge in cycling and hiking.
