A popular tram service, the City Circle Tram operates within the Melbourne’s central business district. The tram follows the route -Flinders Street - Harbour Esplanade - Docklands Drive - La Trobe Street - Victoria Street - Nicholson Street - Spring Street - Flinders Street, and returns following the same route.
The service begins from 10 in the morning till 6 in the evening on Sunday to Wednesday and extended hours from 10 am till 9 pm on Thursday, Friday and Saturday. The tram service is available every 12 minutes. This heritage city train is free for everyone and is the best way to see the various attractions in Central Melbourne and dockland. Some of the most popular places that tourists can enjoy while taking a ride on this tram includes City Museum, Parliament House, Docklands, Federation Square, Melbourne Aquarium and the Princess Theatre.
The tram is also linked to various public transports like bus, trains and other trams. Their services are not available on Christmas day and Good Friday. To catch the City Circle Tram, you simply need to wait at any tram stop along the City Circle Tram route. These tram stops are specially marked with a City Circle sign.
