Lepakshi is a small village that is located in the Anantapur District if the State of Andhra Pradesh. The village is easily accessible from Bangalore and it is located around 15 from the town of Hindupur. It is situated close to the Karnataka border and taxis are the best way to reach the place. There are many archeological sites that are located in the village and it is known for its historical importance. The village is famous for its temples and there are three temples that are dedicated to Veerabhadra, Shiva and Vishnu respectively. The Veerabhadra Temple is famous and many visitors can be seen in the temple. The temple is built in the Style of the Vijayanagar Kingdom and is well known for its excellent architecture. This can be of good interest for architecture buffs and other people interested in the ancient structures.
The region is famous for its many inscriptions and carvings. There is a Nandi Statue that is located in the village and it is one of the main attractions. Many inscriptions in the Kannada language can be seen in the village. Most of these inscriptions date back many centuries. Most of the temples have excellent sculptures. The place is also known for its murals.
