The information at the top of this page is wrong, and seems to be about Delhi, not about Leh. Summer in Leh is from June to August, not from March to May, and the temperature in summer would rarely reach 40, though a dark object in the sun would. The chart looks correct.

may will be fun. during days, just tee shirt will be ok. during nights, a warm jacket should do fine. nothing too heavy is required. at places like pangong, nubra, magnetic hill, it may get too windy.

Hi, I am planning to go to Leh the 8th of may, what is the weather like in this time of the year?. Many thanks. Tina

Early May will be pleasant during the day time, in fact you may feel hot walking in the Sun. But as soon as the sun sets it will turn cold, so do come with seaters and jackets. If you need any further guidance please email contact@discoverladakh.com

We, a group of Four, [3-adults + 1-child 8 yrs]are planning to travel to Leh on 4th May 2009 either from Manali [if the road is open] or from Jammu-Srinagar in a Tata Indica car from Pune, Maharashtra, India.
I will appreciate any one giving tips for the tour.

I think given the time of the year you will be safer coming from Srinagar. However, in any case its best to check the road condition from either sides before you proceed

The temperature can be high but cool winds will be flowing. Keep a jacket for the winds. Ladakh typically is hot in the sun and cold in the shade.
