A cute beautiful village Alchi Choskor, is comfortably situated in the banks of Indus River not far way from Leh city. The main attraction here is the Alchi Gompa, a Buddhist worshipping place and study center, with an estimated 1000 years old. The Buddhist Monks of Likir run the Gompa. The village is populated by Buddhists and Hindus.
An 11th century Dhu-kang Temple is another attraction, attracted by many devotees. Many other religiously important and historical temples also exist in this small village. Nature has blessed this place with tastier and delicious fruits such as plum and apricot in abundance. The best season to visit is May to September. Alchi offers its visitors comfortable accommodation facilities.
