Karumbakavu temple dedicated to the warrior goddess Bhagavathy, has eight arms each with weapons. The severed head of Daruka, bells, an anklet and the vessel of blood adorn the image of Goddess. There are many legendary stories behind this temple. One story coincides with the Kannagi Charithm and Daruka Nigraham.

A large structure of Kshetrapala is placed at the north gate near the main entrance. Vasoorimala and Tavittumurthi are other idols placed in the temple premises. Bharani festival, also known as Kavutheendal, is an important festival in this temple. This ancient temple attracts thousands of devotees every year.
