Though Khodala situates near to Mumbai, it is a less explored holiday spot. A traditional tribal village, inhabited mostly by tribal population, untouched by modernity gives a clear picture of the rural Indian culture. The attire of the tribal people needs a special mention. Tribal dance and music celebrated through out the night in special occasions is a major attraction to any of the tourists. Animal sacrifice which date back to the vedic ages is still practiced by the aborigines of this rustic village. A visit to Khodala offers a wonderful experience of adventurous sports like trekking, mountain biking, waterfall rappelling. The Amala wildlife sanctuary that houses an array of rare reptiles and other species of the animal kingdom is a fabulous place for a stopover. The thick forest around Khodala is a haven of beautiful birds. One can even spot a fabulous tiger in this amazing wilderness. Other major attractions in Khodala include Vaitarana lake, Tringalwadi fort, and the Igatpuri-Kasara ghats. Khodala with all its natural treasures is an exciting place to explore the serene beauty of nature. An amazing hilltop surrounded by magnificent topography, Khodala is a recommended place for those tourists who needs recoil from the tiresome busy city life. |
