Khatu Shyamji is an important religious site that is located in the state of Rajasthan. The temple has good religious significance for many people from the Hindu communities in the area and also from other parts of the country. The main attraction in the temple is the fair that is held either in the month of February or March. The fair usually occurs during the time of Phalgun Dasmi and it lasts for a period of three days. This is held during the peak tourist season and visiting the place during time will provide an interesting insight into the culture and life of the people of this region.
The fair at the Khatu Shyamji temple is characterized by large crowds and processions and there are various stalls that sell flowers and sweetmeats. One can also experience different types of events and there are joy rides for children as well. Another ceremony called the Jadula takes place in the premises and many people from different parts of the country bring their children to have their heads shaved. This is also a good time to visit the place and many interesting stories of various legends and myths can be heard from the locals as well.
