Karur can be reached easily from most parts of the State of Tamil Nadu. The town can be easily accessed by both rail and road.
The nearest airports are located in Trichy and in Coimbatore. They are located at a distance of around 78 km and 120 km respectively. There are frequent taxis services that are available from both the airports. Taxis from Trichy cost around Rs 1200 and taxis from the Coimbatore airport cost around Rs 1700. The nearest international airport is located in Chennai and there are frequent trains and buses that are available from Chennai.
The Karur railway station is located in the center of the town and there are many trains that arrive from different parts of the State. Travelers who are arriving by train can opt for either taxis or auto rickshaws. Auto rickshaws are available extensively outside the railway station and they are the cheapest option. They have fixed rates for different places in the city.
Karur is also connected well by road from all the major cities in the State of Tamil Nadu. Government buses as well as private buses are available to Karur. Private buses are more expensive and have the option of A/C as well.
