Kanyakumari, considered to be the southernmost tip of the Indian peninsula, attracts tourists from all around the country. The best time to visit Kanyakumari would be ideally between October and March, when the temperature is moderate and comfortable.
You may get a hotel on the spot during off season, but during the peak season it is advisable to book a hotel at least a week in advance. Hotels here are really affordable and suit your budget. Double bed deluxe rooms do not cost more than Rs 700 and comfortable luxury rooms are available for Rs 1,000 to Rs 1,500. The prices drop down steeply during off season. Air conditioned rooms are available, which is a welcome lifeline in the humid summers.
Kanyakumari, being an ocean town has exotic resorts along the shores. Prices at these resorts range from Rs 1,000 to Rs 2,000 per day. In addition to being close to the sea, they also offer swimming pools and other recreational activities.
The Kanyakumari hotels are very close to the shores and to other major tourist attractions. Cabs and comfortable town buses are also available to travel to your desired locations.
