Kanha has a temperate climate during summers and cooler climate during winters.
- Summers (March to June) are temperate with temperature never rises beyond 40 °C and one can see many tourists during this season.
- Monsoons (July to September) offer medium to heavy rainfalls and typically tourists keep off this period.
- Winters (December to February) are severe and frosty with minimum temperature touching as low as 2 °C. This season is attractive with snow capped mountains.
Best season to visit Kanha is from October to June.
- October to June is the ideal time for visiting the Kanha wildlife park. This park is open during this period and closed during monsoons.
- March to June is perfect time for best sightings of animals. In this season climate is pleasant and grass cover at a low level ensuring better visibility of animals.
- December to February is suitable for spotting barasingha in the wilderness.
- July to September, the routes may be slippery and also the park is closed.
