Kanha |
A delightful town placed in Mandla district in Madhya Pradesh, Kanha presents the magnificient face of wildlife of India. Prettily seated in between two lovely rivers Helon and Banjar, this tiny locale is the core of tiger preservation in the subcontinent. Though the Kanha National Park is the main attraction, other places like, Kanha Museum, Bamni Dadar, Mandla Fort, Phen Wildlife Sanctuary and Ramnagar Fort are also poses a perfect stop over points.
Kanha’s alluring charm captivates the visitors’ attention with its bamboo and sal forests, undulating grasslands and winding torrents. A land of abundant flora and fauna, Kanha boast of a vibrant natural vista. The famous hunting spot of erstwhile rulers and viceroys, became thrown to fame after the release of the Jungle book by the eminent writer Rudiard Kipling. A sprawling forest with varied hybrids and rich wild life is a worthwhile spot that offer a panoramic picture of enchanting marvels. Monsoon with its rainy showers brings a rejuvenating freshness to the deep woods and the lush meadows. Another imposing site in the near by vicinity of Kanha is Shravantal dam. Though it looks pretty old, the winter season presents breath taking sceneries of gorgeous waterfowls. Archaeological monuments in Baihar would be a rare feast to archaeological buffs that hardly takes half an hour journey from Kanha.
