The Sandayandi Temple is located right in a hill cave in the area around Kamarajar. It is an ancient Hindu temple that still has a significant religious importance today. At the new moon that occurs every year in July or August, a religious festival is held at the temple. This annual festival is attended by 40,000 or more pilgrims.
As you approach the temple, a large Bunyan tree is seen. A modest shrine is at that tree where many stop to pray. Numerous small shrines exist in the surrounding area where local people stop to pray as well.
