Best Season / Best time to visit Kalpetta
Kalpetta is located amidst dense forest cover; hence the weather here is normally mild and pleasant. There are three main seasons in Kalpetta, similar to the rest of Kerala. The seasons that one can experience here are summer, winter and monsoon. The monsoon in Kalpetta is extensive, as the region comes under the path of both the South West and the North East monsoon.
Summers in Kalpetta are during the months of March to May. The maximum temperature that the region experiences during these months will be around thirty five degrees (35°C). The minimum temperature in the region will be around twenty seven degrees (27°C) during the summer.
The South West monsoon then takes over, during the months of June to September. The North East monsoon follows suit, during the months of October and November. The place experiences torrential rainfall during this time, and travelling to Kalpetta is not advisable due to this.
Winters in Kalpetta are during the months of December to February. This is the best time to visit Kalpetta. The maximum temperature during the winter months will be around twenty four degrees (24°C) and the minimum temperature will be around fifteen degrees (15°C). Sometimes the temperature may even drop to ten degrees (10°C). The town of Kalpetta is one of the few places that experience low temperatures in the state of Kerala.
