Best Season / Best time to visit Jorhat
The town experiences a semi monsoon type climate and there are four main seasons that can be seen in the place. These are the summer, monsoon, autumn and winter seasons. Summers are usually hot and conditions can be sticky due to the humidity as well. The monsoon season gets substantial rains and this is generally from the South West Monsoon. The autumn season is the peak tourist season and the conditions are pleasant during this period. Winters are cold and light protective clothing is a must while travelling during this period.
The summer season is during the months from April to June. Temperatures range from a minimum of 15 degrees Celsius to a maximum of 28 degrees Celsius during the summer season. The months of May and June are the hottest parts of the year.
The months of July, August and September constitute the monsoon season. Heavy rainfall causes water logging during this period.
This season is short and the months of September and October constitute this period. Pleasant and cool conditions prevail during this period.
The winter period is from November to February. Temperatures range from a minimum of 7 degrees Celsius and can climb up to a maximum of around 18 degrees Celsius during the winter season.
