Jawahar in Maharashtra was a princely state ruled by Munke dynasty under the rule of British. It is placed in picturesque location with dense green trees all around and breasts many waterfalls large and small attracting thousands of tourists to its lap. Jawahar rose to fame as the natural habitat of Worli tribes and is also renowned for the traditional paintings of tribes. Historical evidences show that Chathrapathi Shivaji was camping in this place during his travels to Surat.

Jawahar is beaming with many attractive locations in and around. Jai Vilas palace and Bhopatghad fort are two of such attractions nearby. The residential palace of the erstwhile rulers of Jawahar has 80 majestically made rooms with attractive interiors.

Unspoiled and mostly unexplored waterfalls are the prominent tourist attractions in Jawahar. Dadar-Kopra falls and Palusa are the two scenic waterfalls placed perfectly amidst lush greeneries. The thundering cascade and the white gushing water are breathtaking and eye catching. The backdrops of the waterfalls with hilly ranges with full of woods a real charming view.

This prime location in the tourist map of Maharashtra cannot be missed by any of the tourists looking for enjoyable vacations. Jawahar is highly enriched with natural beauties and man made marvels. Grand temples with historical importance, Lakes with serene atmosphere, dams located at naturally scenic places and imposing tourist spots like sunset point and hanuman point which offer beautiful panoramic view of the down valley are all attract the domestic and foreign tourists to Jawahar.
