Jawahar in Maharashtra was a princely state ruled by Munke dynasty under the rule of British. It is placed in picturesque location with dense green trees all around and breasts many waterfalls large and small attracting thousands of tourists to its lap. Jawahar rose to fame as the natural habitat of Worli tribes and is also renowned for the traditional paintings of tribes. Historical evidences show that Chathrapathi Shivaji was camping in this place during his travels to Surat.
