Jammu is a city which is famous for its temples, and is primarily a pilgrim dominated tourism spot considering the temples like the one for Mata Vaishno Devi. There are umpteen numbers of Jammu hotels which provide rooms at competitive prices during the pilgrimage season. It is advisable to book your room well in advance especially when you are planning to visit Jammu between the months September to March, a time which is marked by the peak pilgrimage season.
Several budget hotels are close to the railway station and the general bus stand. You could get a decent well-equipped air-conditioned room with internet access and television for about Rs 1,000 to Rs 2,000. However, air-conditioning is essential only during the hot months of summer from April to June.
