Ganesh Pol

Tags: Historical

Ganesh pol is found in the south side of the courtyard of the palace in the Amber fort. It has an enchanting image of the elephant headed god in it. The image is ornate with lovely colours, which makes the viewer spellbound. This stunning edifice to the private apartments of the royal people was built by the illustrious king of the Rajaputra clan, Jayasingh II.

It is quite sure that Ganesh Pol also include in one among the marvels of the splendid palace. It is amazing to notice that this arched gate way has been painted with vegetable dyes and it still persist the vagaries of time. This gateway depicts the typical Rajasthani ornamentations. One among the many delights in the fort, Ganesh Pol stands elegantly as a majestic path to a sprawling and impressive Mugal Garden.
