Public Garden is located in the center of the Hyderabad city. It was constructed in 1846 by the Nizam government. It is the oldest and the biggest park of Hyderabad. The important attractions of the garden are the Jawahar Bal Bhavan (for children to study fine arts), jubilee hall, state archaeological museum, state legislative assembly, Telugu Lalita Kala Thoranam (an open-air theater, which is the venue for many fashion shows, film festivals, and beauty pageantries), and the Indira Gandhi Auditorium.
The Government of Andhra Pradesh has recently bestowed a huge statue of Mahatma Gandhi in this garden. The garden is famous for the well-conserved greenery and lawns. The garden is being opened on all the days, except Fridays, from 9 am to 12 noon and 2 pm to 5 pm.
