With approximately 1500 species of birds, reptiles and animals, and with 300 acres of land, Nehru Zoological Park is one of the largest zoos in Asia. The zoo is located near Bahadurpura, Hyderabad. Chimpanzees, white peacocks, rhinoceros, and mynahs are the significant varieties of species seen in this well-maintained park. Lion Safari is the major attraction within the zoo.
The eager visitors are taken in a closed-cage tour inside the zoo, where wild animals such as majestic lions, tigers, wild oxen, rhinos and panthers are let live in their simulated natural habitat. A nocturnal zoo, a natural-history museum, a mini train, above all the prehistoric dinosaur park make the park a place to enjoy. It would take 6–7 hours to cover all aspects of the zoo.
The zoo is open between 9 am and 5 pm. Closed on Mondays and national holidays.
