The famous honeymoon destinations of Himachal Pradesh are blessed with a few most famous restaurants and eating joints that couples should not miss visiting. Couples can eat in the formal restaurants, but there are dozens of small yet cozy fast food joints that serve a large platter of lip smacking food.

Shimla <
The most famous honeymoon hill station in Himachal Pradesh, Shimla is dotted with some of the most exotic and wonderful eateries. The eating joints in Shimla are open from 10 am till 10 pm, unless specified.

Baljee’s (Rs15-100) is highly recommended for having a satisfying breakfast. Located opp Town Hall on Mall Road, the omlettes and dosas are famous here. Another great place to hangout for couples is the Indian Coffee House (Rs 20-60) open from 8:30 am till 9pm. This is ideal place for enjoying some heart-warming coffee with dosas.

Cafe Sol (Rs100-200) is also located on the Mall Road and boasts of an upmarket menu that includes Thai and Japanese cuisine. Cecil (Rs 400 to 800) is an uptown buffet restaurant that promises the couples with an extravagant evening.

There are a few pubs and drinking places in Shimla that too are an added delight for any honeymoon couples. The Pub (Rs 90 for beers) is located in Ritz Complex near Christ Church and is a very modern bar known for its drinks and music. Himani’s (Rs 60-100) is a snack bar known for its food and ambiance.


Manali is another hot spot for enjoying some of the most finger-licking delights on your honeymoon in Himachal Pradesh. For those who savour sweets Manali sweets (open from 7 am till late night) is the ideal place for enjoying some sweet and snacks.

For savouries, head to the Mall and go to Chopsticks (Rs 30-150) that serve excellent Chinese and Tibetan food along with cold beers, fruit wines and tea. Mom’s Kitchen (Rs 30-150) on the Mall, Mayur (Rs 30-160) on Mission Road, Kwality Sher-e-Punjab (Rs 30 onwards) on the Mall and Khyber (Rs 100-300) are a few good places to eat while in Manali.

As far as drinking is concerned, there are limitless options in Manali. To begin with, couples can go to Toasted and Roasted (Rs 30 onwards) near Manalsu Nala. Evening beers can also be enjoyed at Chopsticks and Khyber.


An ideal honeymoon retreat, McLeodganj is popular for its various restaurant and eating joints that serve a wide array of cuisines.

While in McLeodganj couples can savour momos, thukpa and tingmo at Snow Lion Restaurant (Rs 20-80) located behind the snow lion guest house. Lung Ta (starting from Rs 30) is a popular vegetarian restaurant located on Jogibara Road. Nick’s Italian Kitches (Rs 50-100) on Bhagsu Road and McLo Restaurant (Rs 60-100) are the most sorted places serving Chinese, Italian and Indian menus.

For the honeymoon couples looking for exceptional drinks, head towards Moonpeak Espresso (starting from Rs 30) famous for its Seattle-like ambiance, cakes and coffee. French Cafe (snacks from Rs 30) on Jogibara road is the place to enjoy French style crepes and coffee.
If you are looking for a bar, then Hotel Tibet and McLlo restaurant are the only places where you can buy a bottle of beer for a minimum of Rs 150.

Lahaul and Spiti
While honeymooning in Lahaul and Spiti region of Himachal Pradesh, then there are limited but exotic places to enjoy your luncheon and dinners. There are no specific restaurant in this region as the hotels that offer accommodation have their in-house restaurants.

While in Keylong (capital of Lahaul), couples can enjoy a stay in hotel Tashi Deleg that serves cool beers, Indian and Chinese food. This is a smart looking place and an average cost of their meal is Rs 300. Hotel Dupchen is also a popular places serving Indian and Tibetan food options.

Similar in Kaza, the capital of Spiti, couples can enjoy a retreat at Mahabudha Restaurant (Rs 25-95). In this restaurant, honeymoon couples can look forward to enjoy some lip smacking European and Asian cuisines.

While in Himachal Pradesh, couples can look beyond the scenic spots and adventure sports. For a cool and fun filled evening, head to the various restaurant, eating joints and bars and pubs that are dotted in the various hill stations of Himachal Pradesh.
