Summers



Summer commences in Himachal Pradesh from the months of March and ends in June. This is is the time when the state emerges as a popular hill station and people from all over the country come here to enjoy some cool breeze.

The temperature in summers range from 22 to 37 degrees and this time is ideal for enjoying paragliding, trekking, camping and water sports. The best places to enjoy your honeymoon during this time includes Bir and Billing and Dharamkot for paragliding and Bilaspur, Dalhousie, Kullu and Lahaul for water sports (white water rafting, fishing, kayaking).

This time of the year, the state is flooded by tourists and thus, honeymoon couples might find it a little too overcrowded. This time of the year is the busiest for Himachal so trains and flight are full. Its important that you plan for your honeymoon well in advance. During this season the prices of hotels also shoot up, upto Rs 4,000 a night in a 3 star hotel. Some hotels also charge 5% season tax extra.

Monsoons


Himachal seems to come alive during the monsoon months from July to September. This is the time when the landscape of the state is covered by lush greenery. Dalhousie with 3400mm is the highest receiver of rainfall in Himachal Pradesh.

The best places to sojourn during this time are Dalhousie, McLeodganj, Kasauli, Kinnaur, Palampur, Tabo and the Lahaul and Spiti region.
