Haryana’s importance in travel and tourism has been better felt by numerous tourists who visit the land owing to its salubrious climate and attractions like hills, tanks, and forests. The state is studded with century-old monuments, temples, gardens and other attractions which are best explored on India holiday packages.

Thorny, dry, deciduous forests can be found all over the state. During the monsoon, a carpet of grass covers the hills. Rainfall is varied, with the Shivalik Hills region being the wettest and the Aravali Hills region being the driest. It is best to visit Haryana between the months of June to October.

The state, also called as “The Madhyama Dis” (middle region) of the Later Vedic Period was the birthplace of the Hindu religion. This was the area where the first hymns of the so-called Aryans were sung and the most ancient manuscripts were written. The epic battle between the Kauravas and Pandavas, recorded in the Indian epic poem, the Mahabharata, took place at Kurukshetra - a place of religious importance in Haryana.

Some of the major places of interest in this city are:
Brahma Sarovar: Every year lakhs of people come to take a holy bath at Brahma Sarovar on the occasion of "Somavati Amavasya" (Sacred No-Moon Day that happens on a Monday).
Sannihit Sarovar: This Sarovar is believed to be the meeting point of seven sacred Saraswatis. Bathing in the waters of the tank on the day of Amavasya (night of complete darkness) or on the day of an eclipse bestows blessings equivalent to performing the ashvamedh yajna.
