Gopalpur is a beach town that is around 16 km from the city of Berhampur. Being a small town the local transport options are limited. There are two main local travel options that a traveler can choose from. Taxis and auto rickshaws are the main modes of local transport available in the town. Cycle rickshaws can also be found in certain places around Gopalpur.
Auto rickshaws are a common mode of local transport. They are found in most areas and are cheap. They are generally un-metered and it is advisable to negotiate the prices. They charge special night fares and one is advised to be prepared for lengthy negotiations with the auto drivers during the night.
